In celebration of Krista & Ian’s 1 year wedding anniversary on Jan 23rd, 2013 I’m delighted to share with you a glimpse into our wonderful week in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic at Dreams Palm Beach.
You can also look back on their fun engagement session from the fall of 2011 in the Ottawa Byward Market.
Krista and Ian met in the spring of 2006 at a course held at the Civic Hospital where they got to know each other and soon began dating. They knew they wanted to be married, and one day when they walked in a jewelry store, found the perfect ring and bought it on the spot!
Even with last minute changes, such as Ian’s daughter Kate wanting to be a flower girl, these two had a wonderful destination wedding filled with memories that they will cherish forever.
What was your favourite moment of the day?
There was more than just one favourite moment, seeing my parents face as they came in my room and saw me for the first time, walking the beach with my dad, having one of my best friends Laura MacHutchon singing me down the aisle, seeing my best friend waiting for me at the end of the beach
Ian – my favourite moments of the day was seeing my bride to be walking down the beach towards me, preceded by my beautiful daughter Kate, in front of loving friends and family.
What will you remember most clearly in years to come?
Mitchel, Ian’s oldest son, opening the wedding by reading a few poems that we chose for the day, and seeing all of our loved ones watching me walk down the aisle
What was the best part of working with your photographer?
Working with Nat was great, she brought so much knowledge with her, she had the answers to the questions that I had or I was unsure about. Her attention to detail and the little things was important. She also saved the day for me when it came time to tie my dress!
